Delivery Terms

Since our products are all handcrafted, artisan-made, and personalized, the order will generally be processed within 7-10 working days from the order receipt date.

The processing and shipping times of the order may vary depending on the time required to create the product itself, as all items are handmade. These times may vary due to difficulties in production (necessary time), choices made at the time of purchase, discount and promotion periods, or temporary unavailability of one or more materials. We will make every effort to process the order as quickly as possible and will promptly inform the Customer.

Shipping Costs

Shipping via courier has the following costs:

  • Shipping within Italy: €45

  • Shipping within Europe: €45

  • Shipping to the rest of the world: €100

Shipping Times

The actual delivery date may vary depending on the destination. In the case of payment by bank transfer, the estimated shipping time will be calculated from the day the payment is credited and appears in our bank account.

During the Christmas holidays (e.g., from December 15 to January 8) and the two central weeks of August, order processing times may experience slight delays, which will be specified in advance on the homepage of the website and during the online purchase process. Any further changes to these dates will be communicated on our website.

Order Processing Time

Since our products are artisan-made, shipping may take unpredictable times as production depends on the choices made during purchase.

We will strive to process the order as soon as possible and will provide immediate updates at each stage (order received, in processing, shipped).

Contract Formation

Online orders must be placed as follows:

When you decide to make a purchase, click on “Add to Cart” to add the product to your cart. The order is completed from the cart using the “Proceed to Purchase” button. By default, the system allows purchases without prior registration, identifying the user as a “Guest.” In this case, the user can buy a product without registering but must provide the necessary details for order management and invoice issuance. A registered user, however, can access a personal area where they can find order details, order status, purchase history, and sales documents.

It is advisable to register personal data to access the reserved area. Registration requires setting up a password, which must be kept confidential and not shared with third parties.

Postcards from Venice provides a secure password recovery procedure for future purchases in case of loss, and the password will be securely stored (encrypted) in our system. You will be required to enter your email address. The registration email address will be used to send the order confirmation and all subsequent documents. However, it is possible to specify a different delivery address during order completion; if the delivery address and invoice address do not match, Postcards from Venice ensures that no cost-related information (sales documents) will be included in the shipped package. The sales document, if sent via email, will always be sent to the email address provided during registration/order.

For registered users, access to the account is done by entering registration details.

The order will clearly outline all applicable costs, including products, accessories, shipping fees, and applicable taxes. To complete the order registration, full acceptance of the Terms of Sale is required. Then, you will be asked to confirm the billing and shipping address as well as payment details.

After collecting all necessary information, you will be asked to verify its accuracy. If any errors are found, you can modify the order before submitting it to Postcards from Venice. If you encounter issues with order registration, please contact Postcards from Venice through the contact form.

Payment authorization is obtained during order registration. If the user’s financial institution does not authorize payment, the order will not be accepted, and the procedure will be terminated.

Postcards from Venice will send an initial email confirming the receipt of the order, containing a summary of the applicable terms of sale, product details, price, payment, withdrawal methods, shipping costs, and applicable taxes. This email will be automatically sent to the user’s registration email.

Postcards from Venice will send a second email when the package is ready for shipping, awaiting pickup by the courier. The sales document will be included in this email.

If Postcards from Venice cannot accept the online order for any reason (e.g., incorrectly listed price, miscalculated online discount, product unavailability, etc.), a representative will contact the user within 7 working days. Once informed, Postcards from Venice will refund any amounts paid.

By submitting an order, the user makes an offer to purchase the Product(s) at the indicated price, subject to acceptance by Postcards from Venice. Prices are regularly checked; however, if Postcards from Venice detects price variations, the user will be contacted for confirmation to proceed with the purchase at the correct price. If the order is confirmed, Postcards from Venice will have no further obligations regarding delivery. If the user identifies an error in the order, they should contact Postcards from Venice immediately through the contact form.

Please report any errors before Postcards from Venice sends the second order confirmation email.

Delivery

Postcards from Venice, while striving to meet the delivery terms indicated in the Delivery Terms section for delivering the Product(s) to the specified address, cannot guarantee an exact delivery date. If the delivery of the Product(s) does not occur, for any reason including the temporary unavailability of the Product(s), within 30 days from the submission of the Order by the user, or another agreed-upon date, the user may cancel the Order, and Postcards from Venice will refund the price and any other amounts already paid by the user. If the courier does not find anyone at home or at the specified delivery location, the courier may attempt to redeliver the order the next day at no additional charge. Additionally, in the case of deliveries to apartment buildings, the concierge is considered an authorized recipient.

Article 63 of the Consumer Code, as amended by Legislative Decree 21/2014, states in paragraph I that: “In contracts where the professional is responsible for shipping the goods, the risk of loss or damage to the goods, for reasons not attributable to the seller, is transferred to the consumer only when the latter, or a third party designated by them and different from the carrier, takes physical possession of the goods.” The consumer becomes responsible for the goods only upon their delivery. The only exception is when the carrier has been chosen by the consumer and not proposed by the professional; in this case, the risk transfer occurs at the moment the goods are handed over to the carrier by the seller. If the goods are damaged or lost during transportation, the consumer bears the loss, except for their right of recourse against the shipping company/carrier.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Products

You are required to inspect the Products upon receipt to check for any defects or damages, which must be reported to Postcards from Venice through the contact form or via certified email (PEC) at ostellofotografico@pec.it.

Pursuant to Article 133 of the Consumer Code, the seller is responsible to the consumer for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery of the goods within 14 days. If a Product is found to have been damaged before delivery or is defective (not due to your use), you may request an alternative return procedure: (a) replacement of the Product; (b) repair (if deemed possible) of the Product; (c) price reduction; or (d) return of the Product with a refund request. Postcards from Venice will provide replacement/repair (if possible)/full or partial refund of the paid price, excluding any shipping costs, provided that the Product has not been worn, used, or damaged.

For complaints, the customer is requested to send a communication to Customer Service via the contact form or by letter to Venice (VE), Sestiere Dorsoduro 164, CAP 30123, stradario 00053, or via certified email (PEC) at ostellofotografico@pec.it.

If you have received a defective or incorrect item, please contact us at postcardsfromvenice@gmail.com, attaching photos of the item in question, indicating the order number and all relevant details.

Defective products are considered those that have a conformity defect existing at the time of delivery or that appears within two weeks from receipt, and that was not caused by improper use by the consumer.

Force Majeure and Limitation of Liability

In the event of force majeure, the execution of the order by the Seller will be suspended by full right. Force majeure cases, in addition to those established by jurisprudence, include unpredictable circumstances beyond the control of the parties that prevent the execution of the order in whole or in part, such as strikes, transportation and road network blockages, adverse weather conditions, even if an emergency state is not declared by the competent authority, supply difficulties, government or legislative measures, natural causes such as fires, floods, earthquakes, accidents, and explosions, failures or malfunctions related to the Internet network, electricity networks, and telecommunications systems outside the Seller’s control or that of its suppliers, making the Website unavailable, as well as the transmission of viruses and cyberattacks by third parties, etc.

If after 90 (ninety) days from the occurrence of the force majeure event, the parties verify its persistence, the order will be automatically canceled unless otherwise agreed between the parties, and the Buyer will only be entitled to a refund of any amounts already paid, with the Seller being exempt from any liability for damages or losses incurred by the Buyer or any third party due to non-performance.

The Seller will not be responsible if the Buyer has misused the Website or if the Website itself contains omissions, errors, or inaccurate information. The Seller will also not be liable for the temporary interruption, unavailability, or suspension of Website operations due to maintenance, updates, failures, or malfunctions for the period necessary to restore normal functionality, as well as for any illegal use of credit cards or payment methods by third parties.

Liability Limitations for Damages

Postcards from Venice shall not be held liable for any allergies or damages caused to individuals wearing its products, as each person should be aware of their own allergies or intolerances.

Postcards from Venice is exempt from any claims for damages in this regard.

By purchasing our products, the user acknowledges full awareness and assumes all responsibility for the use of the item and any side effects caused by allergies, intolerances, or any other improper use of the item itself.

Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer (i.e., you are not purchasing even partially for your business, professional, commercial, or artisanal activity), you have the right, in addition to other rights recognized by law and these Terms of Sale, to withdraw from the contract concluded with Postcards from Venice for the purchase of Products under these Terms of Sale, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 52 et seq. of the Consumer Code (except for personalized Products or other Products for which non-returnability is expressly specified) and to be refunded for any amounts already paid.

If you wish to withdraw, you must notify Postcards from Venice in writing through the contact form or by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt to:

OSTELLO FOTOGRAFICO DI SUTERA-SARDO FEDERICO & C. S.A.S. Venice (VE), Sestiere Dorsoduro 164, CAP 30123, stradario 00053 or via PEC: ostellofotografico@pec.it

If you choose to withdraw, you must return the Products at your own expense, responsibility, and risk, unless Postcards from Venice decides to cover the shipping costs. However, the customer is always responsible for delivering the returned product to the courier until the return is collected. We recommend ensuring that the Products are adequately insured during the return process. You must take reasonable measures to safeguard the Products. Details on exercising the right of withdrawal are provided along with the accompanying note of the Product.

Items must be in perfect condition with intact labels.

All refunds will be processed as soon as possible and, in any case, within 14 (fourteen) days:

  • From the email confirmation by Postcards from Venice of the cancellation of your Order (if the Products have not been delivered to the specified address within 30 days following the Order);

  • From the receipt of the returned Products by Postcards from Venice.

If the payment for the Products was made via bank transfer, refunds will be processed by crediting the payment back to the bank account from which the original charge was made, after requesting the IBAN code and necessary credentials from the customer.

If possible, use the original packaging, including the product, its packaging, and a copy of the purchase document. Always ensure to attach the form received via email to the package.

Send the package to: OSTELLO FOTOGRAFICO DI SUTERA-SARDO FEDERICO & C. S.A.S. Venice (VE), Sestiere Dorsoduro 164, CAP 30123, stradario 00053

Returns in the aforementioned manner entitle you to a refund of the product purchase price but not the shipping and cash-on-delivery costs.

For online purchases delivered in-store, returns and exchanges for an identical or equally valued item are allowed. The sales staff will verify the order content and the product you wish to return, forwarding it to headquarters for the necessary technical checks and communicating the reason stated by you: return due to defect or dissatisfaction.

If you wish to purchase a new item in-store before receiving the refund, you are free to do so, but it will be considered a new in-store purchase, unlinked from your online purchase; as it is a new transaction, you will need to pay the full amount of the new product.

Return Information

Orders (or parts of them) can be returned by sending a notification within 7 days from the date of receipt, with only the transport cost borne by the customer.

The return request must be made via our Customer Service email.

Upon acceptance of the return, you may choose either an exchange for an item of equal value (with shipping costs borne by the customer) or a refund of the amount spent on the returned items.

Returns must be sent to the following address:

OSTELLO FOTOGRAFICO DI SUTERA-SARDO FEDERICO & C. S.A.S. Venice (VE), Sestiere Dorsoduro 164, CAP 30123, stradario 00053

The right of withdrawal is subject to the following non-negotiable conditions:

  1. The purchased item must be intact and returned in its original packaging, complete in all its parts.

  2. Used products with signs of wear or dirt, making them no longer considered intact, will not be accepted. Used jewelry cannot be returned under any circumstances due to potential hygiene risks.

  3. The shipment, until confirmed receipt at our store, is entirely the customer’s responsibility.

  4. In the event of damage to the item during transport arranged by the customer, Postcards from Venice will notify the customer (within 10 working days from receipt of the item at our store) so that they can promptly file a claim with the courier and obtain a refund of the item’s value (if insured).

  5. The customer completely forfeits the right of withdrawal if the essential condition of item integrity (packaging and/or contents) is missing, in cases where Postcards from Venice determines:

  • The absence of external packaging and/or the original internal contents;

  • The absence of components and/or anomalies in the product itself;

  • The use of the product, which has compromised its integrity.
